Free Tutorial : Paper Craft - Making Hanging Decorations

Okay, this tutorial came out a bit late. It was meant originally for publication in MyPaper but it wasn't. So, since it was made, I might as well publish it here. You can still use the same method to create decorations for the upcoming Chinese New Year like oranges, lanterns etc. You can even make bigger paper devcorations for other occasions like birthday parties etc. Just use your imagination!

New developments, new offerings

It had been a while since my last blog entry and since the kids' exams are over, I'm uploading all the latest news and product offerings and maybe, one or two craft tutorials.

We'd been busy with the kids' exam preparations, making new stuff for the monthly MAAD and other bazaars, working on our new Leather Collection, a new baby niece in July plus new baby products! So, coming your way over the coming days & weeks, new baby & kid stuff! Plus, of course, our new Leather collection additions.... Oooh, I'm so in love with leather...... 

We have so many exciting developments here at barangshop....  We are so excited.... We are contributing DIY articles to a new parent & child Handicraft DIY Column in the bilingual newspaper - MyPaper 我报! Felting with Princess T

My 9-year old Princess T got bored with her recent activities and so we tried something new - felting. For those who are not too sure what felting is, it's actually taking a lump of wool, shape it roughly into the shape you want, and poking the life out of the lump of wool with a felting needle. This is what she made entirely by herself, poking with her needles. I got her extra needles so she can hold them together and speed up the process.

Sewing a Dress for her Build-a-Bear  Workshop Stuffed Toy 

Princess T wanted to sew on my sewing machine for a long time. So, she finally got to sew a dress for her Build-a-Bear Workshop Hello Kitty and Bunny dolls. This dress can be worn by all the standard size Build-a-Bear Workshop stuffed dolls. I may come up with a tutorial later. Keep a lookout! 

This dress is sewn by Princess T with a teeny little bit of help here and there from me. Not bad, huh, for a first attempt.
